President’s Round Table discussion of the Political Military Action Team (PMAT)

Please join us on Monday, April 18 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. for a President’s Round Table discussion with Mr. Scott Page, Director of the Political Military Action Team (PMAT).   Mr. Page’s remarks will focus on the PMAT and its most recent activities.  For Mr. Page’s biography, please see below. Bio: Mr. Scott Page is a member of the Civil Service and has served as the Chief of Operations for the Office of International Security Operations, in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, since June 2006.  In part, he manages a 24/7 operation known as the Political-Military Action Team (PMAT) to coordinate military operations in support of foreign policy.  This team is composed of retired Foreign Service Officers and retired military officers. Prior to assuming his current position at State, Mr. Page was known as Colonel Page, having served 30 years in the U.S. Army.  His assignments included: Deputy Political Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the Army; U.S. Defense and Army Attaché to Bangkok,

Thailand ; U.S. Defense and Army Attaché to Manila, Philippines ; and Political-Military Planner on the Joint Staff, J-5 Asia-Pacific Division and J-8 Studies, Analysis, and Gaming Division.

Metro is the best way to get there.

1.      Take the Orange or Blue Line to Farragut West and go out the 18th Street exit (18th and I Streets).  Walk down to F Street.  1801 is on the corner.

2.      Take the Red Line to Farragut North, get out on Connecticut Avenue, walk west to 18th Street, and south to F Street.  1801 is on the corner.

Parking:  There is on-street parking in the area with one- and two-hour meters.      Parking garages are on either side of 18th just north of the corner of 18th and F are often full.  Other garages are nearby.

Directions From Virginia.:  Remember that

18th Street is one way going north.

From I-66.  Cross

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge .  Take the left exit at the end of the bridge and follow signs to E Street.  Take E Street and turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the northwest corner at 18th and F.

Theodore Roosevelt Bridge .  Take the left exit at the end of the bridge and follow signs to E Street.  Take E Street and turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the northwest corner at 18th and F.

 

Memorial Bridge .  Turn right at the end of the bridge onto Independence Avenue .  Go under the bridge and take the second exit to E Street.  Take E Street and turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the northwest corner at 18th and F.

 

Key Bridge .  Take the Whitehurst Freeway exit.  At the end of the freeway, either

 

   1.  Go straight onto

K Street , turn right onto 19th Street , and turn left onto F Street .  DACOR will be on your left at 18th Street , or 

  2.  Turn right toward the

Kennedy Center , take the E Street exit, and turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the northwest corner at 18th and F.

 

14th Street Bridge.  Don't take the 14th Street Bridge.

 

Directions From

Maryland :  Remember that 18th Street is one way going north.

 

From the BW Parkway or Route 50, go south on

Kenilworth Avenue .  Take the Howard Road exit, cross the South Capitol Street Bridge .  Get on I-395 South and take the Main Avenue exit onto Independence Avenue .  Go under Memorial Bridge and take the second exit to E Street.  Turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the corner at 18th and F.

From I-495, take the the

GW Parkway to the Roosevelt Bridge exit.  Take the left exit at the end of the bridge and follow signs to E Street.  Take E Street and turn left on 18th.  DACOR is on the northwest corner at 18th and F.
